How Kawhi Leonard Really Feels About Toronto Raptors

Kawhi Leonard’s short-lived marriage to the Toronto Raptors ended in a mutually beneficial way for all parties. He established himself as one of the best players in league history. The franchise earned its lone NBA championship.

It was a win-win for everyone except DeMar DeRozan.

That said, over the past few years many have taken to wondering how much Leonard truly enjoyed his time with the Raptors.

This past week, Drake joined the broadcast booth for a preseason game between the Raptors and Houston Rockets.

While on the mic, he shared some interesting details regarding Leonard’s true feelings for the city of Toronto.

“I’ll tell you honestly one thing about Kawhi that I could tell the people, whenever I see him, he expresses the utmost gratitude and just always says how much he misses the fans and the city,” Drake said. “So you know that’s my guy honestly he is really grateful for his time here.”

Aside from leading them to an NBA title, Leonard’s time with the Raptors also produced one of the most hilarious revenge stories in sports history. The epic way Masai Ujiri woke Leonard up at 5:00 am every single day following his decision to leave Toronto will forever live in the Hall of Fame of Pettiness.

It’s good to know that, despite Leonard perhaps not talking about it all that much, he really does look back on his one season in Toronto fondly. His jersey will be retired there one day, and clearly the respect is mutual.
