Gordon Hayward’s wife, Robyn, sent out a harsh message about the Charlotte Hornets this week.
Ahead of Friday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Gordon found himself on the injury list with a left shoulder contusion.
According to Robyn, however, that is not entirely accurate. Apparently her husband is dealing with a “fractured scapula” and not just some little bruise. Moreover, in the team’s prior outing, his injury was allegedly so bad that “he couldn’t move his arm up.”
Robyn didn’t stop there, though. She then went on to accuse Michael Jordan’s team of “not protecting players.” And in addition to that, she maintains that she isn’t the only member of the Hornets family with that opinion. Apparently, another young player’s mom agrees.
Yikes.
Charlotte originally signed Gordon to a 4-year, $120 million contract with the expectation that he would be a franchise pillar. Unfortunately, he has since struggled to remain on the court.
To date, he has never played in more than 49 games as a member of the Hornets. His production has also never returned to his peak 2016 Utah Jazz levels.
So far in 2022-23 Gordon has averaged 16.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 11 games — already missing nearly half of the team’s outings so far this season.
Because of his history most assumed that, when he got injured this week, it was just par for the course. But maybe, as Robyn insists, there is more to the story here.
Robyn has never been one to bite her tongue. Whether she is criticizing other NBA players or getting brutally honest about Boston, she keeps it real.
It helps that she has a massive following, too. She has more than 83,000 followers on Instagram. That allows her to go viral for her provocative bath tub videos, but also gives her a strong voice when she has gripes with how her husband is treated.

Will the Hornets ultimately come out and address this situation in any capacity?
Or will they opt to deal with it in-house to avoid drawing any further attention to the matter?
Time will tell.
