Giannis Antetokounmpo Names Best Player In NBA Today

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is regarded by many as the best player in the NBA.

As far as Antetokounmpo is concerned, though – he doesn’t deserve the title. For him, there is another very clear best player in the NBA.

This week, the Greek legend offered his two cents on the topic.

Unsurprisingly, his opinion caused quite the stir.

“Do I believe I am the best player in the world? No,” he said.

“I think the best player in the world is the person that is the last one standing,” Giannis said. “It’s the person who takes his team to the finish line and helps them win the game.

“Two years ago when we did that, yeah. When I was sleeping in my bed I said ‘ohhh yeah, maybe I am the best player in the world.’ But now, no. In my opinion, the way I view it, the winner is the best. The guy that wins is the best… I believe the best player in the world is Steph Curry until the next player.”

That message was then relayed to Curry. His reaction to it was absolutely hilarious.

“I don’t know if it was gamesmanship,” Curry replied, per Marc J. Spears. “I would’ve said the same thing about the champions… I said the same thing about him last year. I appreciate the compliment. It’s not going to soften me at all.”

Curry has been on an epic run this summer. After claiming the first Finals MVP of his storied career, he has been partying nonstop with his wife Ayesha and getting one of a kind gifts from legendary rappers.

Clearly there is a big target on his back, though. Antetokounmpo and many others are coming for his crown in 2022-23.

Will he be able to hold them off and win his fifth career title?

Time will tell.
