Evander Kane And Wife Anna At Center Of Fake Pregnancy Scandal

Evander Kane And Wife Anna At Center Of Fake Pregnancy Scandal

Suspended San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane has been embroiled in controversy for many months.

Things took a fresh turn this week, however, when he accused his estranged wife Anna of faking a pregnancy.

In court documents obtained by TMZ, Evander claims that up until November he was under the impression that Anna was pregnant with a baby due to be delivered in Feb. 2022.

That was all turned on its head when, just a couple of weeks ago, the 30-year-old was alerted to medical bills suggesting that Anna had an abortion in July.

Evander maintains that he spent the better part of four months unaware of what had transpired. He insists that he had physically watched her belly grow with what he presumed was their second child, and implies she wore “some sort of pregnancy belly” to deceive him.

Anna, for her part, concedes that she was “less than forthcoming with [Evander] with regards to [her] decision” and that “did not inform [Evander] or the court that [she] was no longer pregnant,” but maintains she never wore “any sort of prosthetics in an attempt to look pregnant.”

Evander claims that he is disturbed now by what Anna has the capacity for and wants sole custody of their daughter.

Evander and Anna have been entangled in messy divorce proceedings for months now, with each party accusing the other of domestic assault. Beyond that, Anna also accused Evander of gambling on games involving his own team and “throwing games with bookies to win money.”

The NHL conducted an investigation into the claims, but ultimately determined that there was no evidence tying Evander to any sort of gambling involving his own team.

Currently, Evander is under a 21-game NHL suspension for using a fake COVID-19 vaccine card.

Obviously controversies exist in all sports and impact a wide variety of athletes and coaches. That said, there is something particularly unsettling about his specific case. Hopefully at some point in the near future the matter can be resolved and all parties can move on with their lives in a much more productive and effective way.
