Erin Andrews admitted to making up reports during games in a bizarre podcast episode where Charissa Thompson claimed to do the same thing.
This week, Thompson made headlines when she appeared on a Barstool Sports podcast called ‘Pardon My Take’ and confessed that she had previously made up halftime reports.
“I’ve said this before [and] I haven’t been fired (for) saying it, but I’ll say it again,” she began.
“I would make up the report sometimes, because A, the coach wouldn’t come out at halftime, or it was too late and I didn’t want to screw up the report. So I was like, ‘I’m just gonna make this up.’
“Because first of all, no coach is gonna get mad if I say, ‘Hey, we need to stop hurting ourselves. We need to be better on third down. We need to stop turning the ball over and do a better job of getting off the field.’ They’re not gonna correct me on that. So I’m like, it’s fine, I’ll just make up the report.”
After an understandable backlash, Thompson came back with a sad apology regarding everything.
What is interesting, though – is that this wasn’t the first time Thompson said she had made up reports. She had previously done so during a podcast appearance with Andrews. And during that podcast appearance, Andrews admitted that she had done it, too.
“I was like ‘oh coach what adjustments are you gonna make at halftime?’ He goes, ‘that’s a great perfume you’re wearing.’ I was like ‘oh f*ck, this isn’t gonna work.’ I’m not kidding, I made up a report,” Thompson said at the time.
“I’ve done that too,” Andrews chimed in. “For a coach that I didn’t wanna throw under the bus because he was telling me all the wrong stuff!”
Both Thompson and Andrews are mainstays in the headlines. That is why this story is such a big deal.
Andrews literally just set the internet ablaze with the photos from her Beverly Hills date night with Tom Brady.
They are legit stars.

Over the past week calls have been building for Thompson be fired.
It will be interesting to see if Andrews faces a similar backlash now that her old confession about lying is going viral.
Will Thompson and Andrews lose their jobs over this controversy? Time will tell.
