Drew Brees Offers Chiefs-49ers Prediction

Drew Brees offered a Chiefs-49ers prediction this weekend.

During the lead-up to Sunday’s Pro Bowl, the New Orleans Saints quarterback was one of several people to weigh in on Super Bowl LIV.

The looming February 2 match-up pits Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs against Jimmy Garoppolo and the San Francisco 49ers.

Brees believes it will be a strong battle and a lot of fun to watch.

“It’s gonna be a heck of a battle,” he said.

“We’re talking about a super explosive offense, with all those weapons. Mahomes’ ability just to make plays when there’s nothing there.

“The challenge that the 49ers present is that they have an excellent front seven, and lots of subbing in that can play ball, too. And then their back end is very good. So there’s no weak link on that defense.”

Brees believes that San Francisco’s offense will really work hard to keep the ball away from Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense.

“On the flip side, the Niners’ offense is so good at controlling the ball, running the ball… Jimmy Garoppolo’s gonna have a terrific day.

“So it’s almost gonna be like a game of keep-away — just keep the ball away from Mahomes, because you know when he’s out there, something exciting is gonna happen.”

Odds makers have pegged the coming as one that should be very close, so it is no surprise that Brees had a hard time giving one squad an edge over the other.
