Donovan Mitchell Reveals 6 Best Defenders In NBA Today

Donovan Mitchell was and continues to be one of the best players in the NBA today.

Although he hasn’t and isn’t particularly known to be a defensive stalwart, his unique offensive skillset means he is well-equipped to assess other people’s defense.

After all, whoever can slow him down on a nightly basis has to be pretty good at what they do.

This past week Mitchell named his top six defenders in the league today.

“[In] no [particular] order,” he said.

“Jrue [Holiday], Lu Dort, OG Anunoby … [then] I’m gonna put Bam [Adebayo] on there. Dray [Green] and [Marcus] Smart have to be tied for fifth.”

Between the presence of Defensive Players of the Year winners and highly-regarded on-ball defenders on that list, it is hard to quibble with Mitchell’s selections.

Over the years, the former Louisville standout has proven himself to be nothing if not honest. Between his blunt takes on his relationship with Rudy Gobert and straight-forwardness regarding who he’d prefer to face in the playoffs, he always keeps it real.

This was just the latest example.

Mitchell has obviously been in the headlines quite a bit as of late. Between his intimate Valentine’s Day celebration with his girlfriend and his memorable Hailey Van Lith video, it has been one thing after another.

With the NBA offseason approaching full swing, he will likely continue to make news for non-playing matters for the next few months.

What will Mitchell ultimately go viral for next? Time will tell.
