The Los Angeles Dodgers are World Series champions after defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 on Tuesday night. With the victory, LA secured its first title since 1988.
Immediately after Game 6, Dodgers fans took to the streets of Los Angeles to celebrate the occasion. The scenes from the festivities were absolutely wild.

The Dodgers’ win comes just weeks after the Los Angeles Lakers won the 2020 NBA Championship. Much in the way Dodgers fans took to the streets, Lakers fans did the same.
This past week, Los Angeles officials came out and suggested that celebrations from the Lakers’ championship contributed to an uptick in the city’s COVID-19 cases.

“It is highly likely that gatherings to watch and/or celebrate the Lakers, along with any other gatherings that occurred 2-3 weeks ago where people weren’t wearing face coverings and were in close contact with each other, contributed to the rise in LA County cases,” the L.A. County Department of Public Health said in a statement.
It appears that information has fallen on deaf ears, though – as fans are still out and about celebrating the Dodgers’ big win.
