D’Eriq King Officially Transferring To Miami

D’Eriq King is officially transferring to Miami. As of the 2020 college football season, he will formally be the new starting quarterback of the Hurricanes.

King has spent the past week speaking to various schools after announcing his decision to transfer from Houston.

Oregon, LSU, Maryland, Rutgers and Arkansas were all said to be in contention for his services, but ultimately he settled on Miami.

Last season, King played in just four outings – thus preserving his eligibility for a 2020 campaign.

Back in 2018, King established himself as one of the nation’s best young quarterbacks. That season he threw for 2,982 yards, 36 scores and six picks, while also running for 674 yards and 13 scores.

King clashed with the direction of new Houston coach Dana Holgorsen last season, and made it abundantly clear that he wanted to make a move.

This is a step Miami desperately needed to make. Fresh off a humiliating 14-0 bowl game defeat at the hands of Louisiana Tech, the Hurricanes needed a talent infusion at quarterback.

With King, they got precisely that.

An official announcement regarding King’s decision is expected at some point within the next twenty four to forty eight hours.

  1. King can’t cut it Houston because he was incapable of learning a new system. Miami will be a bust for him as there will be a season like last year at Houston because he was completely ineffective. His passes were errant and he was not the same qb as he was under Briles. The only chance this guy had was under Briles at Arkansas where he already knows the system…Good Luck Miami because you bought a pig in a poke
