Dave Portnoy, Barstool Sports Interview Trump

Dave Portnoy and Barstool Sports interviewed President Donald Trump this week.

Portnoy has generally been mostly apolitical over the course of his career, but in recent years he has noticeably moved a bit rightward.

Between his repeated appearances on Fox News and many rants against political correctness, the Barstool boss has developed a lot of the same fans and foes as President Trump.

Word of Portnoy’s interview with President Trump initially spread via Twitter.

One of Barstool’s official accounts tweeted out a photo of Portnoy sitting across from President Trump.

Shortly thereafter, other independent accounts began confirming that Barstool had somehow gotten access to the most powerful man on the planet.

A sit down between Trump and Portnoy is certainly remarkable given where both men were just 10 years ago.

Back in 2010, Trump had yet to publicly challenge Barack Obama’s citizenship and cement himself as a political force among conservatives.

Portnoy, meanwhile, was still blogging to a much smaller audience and much uglier than he is today.

A lot can change in a decade.

It is unclear when and where the Trump-Barstool interview will ultimately air, but presumably it will be accessible via Barstool’s website and various social channels. More details should emerge in the coming days.
