Danica Patrick Gets Brutally Honest About Dating Life
Danica Patrick is the most successful woman to ever participate in open-wheel racing.
Her place in sports lore is etched in stone at this point, and her reputation as a truly transformational figure is beyond reproach.
Although Patrick did not ultimately rack up the victories some believe are necessary to legitimately define her racing career, she was still immensely effective when it came to her craft.
Unfortunately, when it came to her personal life, Patrick could never achieve that same level of success. This past week, she got brutally honest about her dating life and still being single at 40 years old.
“It’s cool,” Patrick said recently in an interview with Fox News. “I think that turning 40 and being single … I was in a lovely relationship for a year and that ended in January, the beginning of the year.
“To sort of step into my next decade alone was like, wow, OK. That kid ship might be sailing. I have no plans for my birthday right now because I’m now all of a sudden alone.”
That said, Patrick did acknowledge it was a complex situation filled with a lot of different feelings.
“There were some of those feelings of sadness in a way,” she admitted.
“But I also love being able to be spontaneous and spend time with my girlfriends and go on trips. My life these days is like a jigsaw puzzle that I’m fitting together [with] work trips and play trips. So I’m going to focus on that. And when the right guy comes along, I’ll know it.”
Patrick remains an incredibly popular figure in the sports world, despite having retired a pretty long time ago.
Be it for her provocative outfits or racy ‘red party’ photos – she always seems to go viral for one reason or another.
And then of course Patrick’s dating life is a mainstay in the news cycle. Between her most recent heartbreak going public, her blunt take on ex-boyfriend Aaron Rodgers’ split with actress Shailene Woodley and then her odd reaction to Rodgers allegedly dating a witch now, it’s one thing after another with her.

If past is prologue, this probably isn’t the last time Patrick will need to address her singleness and/or relationship status in an interview.
Will she finally find love at some point in the foreseeable future?
Time will tell.
