Dana White’s Gift To Youtube Star From Nelk Boys Sparks Outrage
UFC boss Dana White is no stranger to controversy.
As the face of the biggest promotion in all of mixed martial arts (MMA), he often finds himself on the wrong end of criticism.
And it was more of the same this week.
In a now-viral video, White can be seen giving a particularly interesting birthday gift to Youtube star “Kyle Forgeard” from the Nelk Boys.
The clip largely speaks for itself:
Uncle @danawhite just gave me $250,000 for my birthday.. pic.twitter.com/noH34JF8zY

As do the reactions:
Dana White gave Kyle from Nelk 250k for his birthday, more then he paid his flyweight champion 😭 pic.twitter.com/JaH6ZqD3JL

Fighters, this ‘generosity’ is only possible because the promoter is pocketing 80% https://t.co/1u2PU3kB69

Fighters should be proud that they get to finance that gift. https://t.co/Pno1Pvu8jc

Between his leaked DMs, polarizing plans for the UFC and general way of doing things – White has become something of a mainstay in the headlines.
In that respect, this most recent brouhaha is just par for the course.
But it does seem like these pay concerns in regards to his fighters are not going away any time soon. There’s a reason Paige VanZant is out there posing for these sorts of photos to make a buck.

And generally speaking, it’s a little tougher to ignore issues when you’re owned by a publicly traded company than when you are a private enterprise doing whatever you want.
Will White ultimately come out and address this most recent controversy?
Time will tell.
