Conor McGregor Leaks Dana White DMs, Agrees To Fight Manny Pacuqiao
Conor McGregor did two things on Friday. First, he leaked private DMs that revealed the conversations he had been having with UFC boss Dana White. Then he named his next opponent.
Earlier in the week, UFC vet Diego Sanchez expressed interest in closing his career out with a bout against McGregor. Word of this got back to the Irish star, who revealed a series of messages between him and White on the topic.
“To Diego Sanchez,” McGregor tweeted.
“I (saw) your recent comments about your final bout and I am in! After you fought (Michel) Pereira, I had requested for myself and you to compete in Dublin. This was back in February when I was working on (the opposition) for my season, (pre-COVID). Good luck this weekend!”
At that point, he revealed the DM exchanges between him and White.
To Diego Sanchez…

Here’s the finish of that exchange. Pre covid. Pre retirement.
Never turned down offer of Tony as was suggested at the time. I stated months in advance (early February) that I was not interested in being an alternate for two consistent pullouts.

After clearing the air on his recent octagon inactivity, McGregor turned his attention towards the future.
Namely – his next opponent.
According to former UFC Lightweight champ, his next bout will be a boxing match between him and Manny Pacquiao.
Anyway all water under the bridge who gives a fook.

It will be a true honour to have faced two of the greatest boxers of the modern era, afraid of a fight.

It is worth noting that McGregor and Pacquiao have been dancing around each other for years. Although it seemed on multiple occasions like something might be close, nothing ever materialized.
McGregor previously stepped into the boxing ring back in August 2017 against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
It was a wildly successful event financially for both men. Mayweather is said to have walked away with $280 million for his troubles, while McGregor reportedly took home $130 million.
Mayweather ended up stopping McGregor in the 10th round.
If McGregor and Pacquiao do square off, it will be interesting to see if they do similar numbers to Mayeather-McGregor. Pacquiao has a much more international following than Mayweather does, so the impact of that on the bottom line would be fascinating.
McGregor’s last fight was a quick first round victory over Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone.
Pacquiao, meanwhile, most recently defeated Keith Thurman in thrilling fashion last July. He is currently riding a three fight winning streak.
