Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus teammate Daniele Rugani has the coronavirus, it would appear.

On Wednesday, a report emerged that Rugani had tested positive for coronavirus. This comes on the heels of his team being exposed to members of a Serie C club that was apparently infected by the pandemic.

Obviously, Italy has been dealt a devastating blow by the coronavirus to date. Aside from China, no other nation has had to deal with so many infections and deaths stemming from the infection.

Thus far, Rugani is the first and only player to be a confirmed positive from Juventus. Clearly that does not meant he former Arsenal transfer will be the last, though.

Rugani played most recently with his teammates on February 22 in a victory over Spal.

That said, he did also tweet out a photo of himself celebrating with his teammates three days ago after a 2-0 win against Inter Milan.

“The footballer Daniele Rugani has tested positive for Coronavirus-COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic,” the team said in a statement.

“Juventus Football Club is currently activating all the isolation procedures required by law, including the census of those who have had contact with him.”

Meanwhile, Inter Milan has suspended all future outings until further notice.

This is a situation worth monitoring in the coming days.
