Cowboys Player Gerald McCoy Calls Out Jerry Jones Over Race

A Dallas Cowboys player has called out team owner Jerry Jones over race.

Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy spoke out recently against his team owner’s silence regarding the racial issues impacting the nation.

In McCoy’s estimation, someone of Jones’ caliber speaking out would have a substantial impact on the discourse.

“The Dallas Cowboys are the most recognized franchise in the world,” he said.

“They can get behind it, whether it’s the players or just being in the movement, period, and showing their support,” McCoy continued.

“It would be great to hear a statement from the Cowboys, great to hear a statement from Jerry Jones in support of everything that’s going on. Will that get me in trouble saying that? I don’t know, but the truth is it needs to be said. The problem is people are afraid to have the conversations.”

McCoy is not the only person to call Jones out on the subject of race recently.

ESPN talking head, Stephen A. Smith, also recently called out the Cowboys owner for not speaking out publicly on the most discussed issue in society today.
