Paul Finebaum On Dabo Swinney To Alabama
Paul Finebaum spoke on Dabo Swinney going to Alabama during a recent radio interview.
While appearing on the Dan Patrick show this week, Finebaum was pressed on whether Clemson’s head coach would ever consider replacing Nick Saban.
Saban, 68, has no shown no signs of slowing down. That said, a succession plan is obviously going to be necessary sooner rather than later.
Swinney has built Clemson into of the country’s best programs and won two championships in three years. As an Alabama alum, naturally many at Tuscaloosa would love to bring him into the fold.

In Finebaum’s opinion, though, that simply is not going to happen. In fact, he called the proposed move “insane.”
“There is no way Dabo Swinney ever goes back to Alabama,” he said.
“To go follow Nick Saban is insane. He’s got as great a situation as any coach has ever had.”
It is difficult to argue with Finebaum’s last point. Swinney is currently less than a week away from playing in the National Championship Game and securing his third title.
Either way, though – him going to Alabama simply is not in the cards.
