Kirby Smart Angry With Georgia Players Despite Baylor Win
Kirby Smart is angry with Georgia players despite Wednesday’s Baylor win.
Fresh off the Bulldogs’ 26-14 showing over the Bears, one would think that the winning side’s coach would be ecstatic.
That was not the case after the Sugar Bowl.
Speaking to the media following the big game, Smart was visibly perturbed by the attitudes of some of his guys.
Smart suggested that a “disease” was infecting his program that made “kids believe they are better than they are.” He then suggested that his players have been reading “their own press clippings.”
More than anything, Smart just seemed ticked off.
“The future is only bright if those guys continue to work, because there is a disease that creeps in at Georgia where kids believe they are better than they are and they read their own press clippings,” he said.
Georgia finished the season 11-1, but lost to LSU for the second consecutive year by double digits.
It remains to be seen how many guys infected by the “disease” return to play under Smart next season.
