Urban Meyer Has Strong Words For Justin Fields, Ohio State
Urban Meyer had strong words for Justin Fields, Ohio State ahead of Saturday’s big showdown.
Win or lose in the College Football Playoff semi-finals, Meyer wanted to make it explicitly clear how impressed he was with all involved this year.
Meyer has coached a lot of great young quarterbacks in his time, everyone from Tim Tebow to Braxon Miller to J.T. Barrett to Dwayne Haskins – so he knows a gifted college player when he sees one.
In his estimation, Fields is as good as anyone he has ever encountered.
The three-time National Championship-winning coach recently reflected on Fields’ 2019 campaign with Ohio State leading up to the Clemson game.

“I think he’s one of the best players I’ve ever seen, and Ryan’s the best quarterbacks coach I’ve ever seen,” Meyer.
“So you put those two together, and they use him, I think, exceptionally.”
Fields has had a tremendous season with the Buckeyes this year. Unfortunately, he is not heading into Saturday’s outing at 100 percent.
It remains to be seen if the young star can put the cherry atop a fantastic 2019 campaign with a big victory against a very tough Clemson squad.
