Oklahoma Loses Star To Devastating Injury
Oklahoma lost a star to a devastating injury this week.
Wide receiver Theo Howard was seen as an heir apparent of sorts to CeeDee Lamb.
Unfortunately, it looks like that will not be happening any time soon.
According to OUInsider reporter Brandon Drumm, Howard has torn his Achilles.
Barring some sort of miraculous recovery, there is a very good chance that he will now have to sit out the entire coming college football season.
Howard transferred to Oklahoma from UCLA. As a grad transfer, he would have been able to play immediately.

While playing for UCLA he recorded 1,359 yards and nine scores on 119 catches in 32 outings.
This is a devastating blow for Howard, obviously, as well as the Sooners.
Howard did not play in 2019 so as to focus on finding a transfer locale.
With Howard out, Oklahoma will now have to rely more heavily on a young group featuring Jadon Haselwood, Theo Wease, Charleston Rambo and Trejan Bridges.
The only positive in all this is that Oklahoma has a relatively easy schedule ahead in 2020-21.
That coupled with Baylor likely taking a step back and Texas being Texas, means the damage here will likely be somewhat mitigated.
Even with them being somewhat shorthanded at wide receiver, the Sooners should still be able to contend for a College Football Playoff spot with ease.
