Few college football coaches have handled getting the boot from their cushy jobs as well as Ed Orgeron.
While things between Coach O and LSU didn’t end on the sweetest of notes, and although the details of his transgressions at the school were less than ideal, the man is loving his freedom.
This was clear as day two weeks ago when he and his new girlfriend hit up an LSU football game. And it was readily apparent this past weekend, when he decided to take in a Tulane football game.
While at the outing, Coach O even stopped for this photo:
Because of Coach O’s larger than life persona and the way he has been absolutely living life as of late, reactions to this most recent photo poured in immediately.
“On the recruiting trail I see,” one fan wrote.
“Girls I’m gon tell ya why they call me Coach O,” another joked.
“Coach O living his best life,” a third added.
In early September Coach O hilariously recounted the story of LSU giving him the boot. It was so quintessentially an encapsulation of his entire way of being that it immediately set the internet ablaze.

“They said, ‘Coach, you’ve got $17.1 million on your contract. We’re gonna give it to you,’” Orgeron recalled.
“I said, ‘What time do you want me to leave and what door do you want me out of, brother?’”
One would expect nothing less from a guy who rebounded as smoothly as Coach O did from his leaked bedroom photos going mega-viral while he was coaching a National Championship-winning squad.

The man is unflappable.
Time will tell if Coach O ever coaches again. Even if he doesn’t, though — his impact on college football and the larger cultural zeitgeist is undeniable.
There have been a lot of coaches out there. But there will always only be one Coach O.
