Clippers Preparing To Make Big Trade For Suns Star?
Are the Clippers preparing to make a big trade for a Suns star?
It is certainly looking that way.
According to a recent Bleacher Report article, Los Angeles is reportedly looking to upgrade the roster at the center position.
More specifically, a deal between the Clippers and Phoenix Suns centering around Aron Baynes and Ivica Zubac has been proposed.
“Baynes is believed to be a prime target for the Clippers,” the article notes.
“Zubac’s four-year, $28.5 million salary would work straight-up for the Phoenix center, but the Suns may not want to take on a long-term salary for a true center to back up Deandre Ayton.”
If money really is an issue for Phoenix, a third team would likely need to get involved to facilitate the move.
In 25 games played this year Baynes is averaging 12.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per outing.
Zubac, 22, is putting up 8.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game through 35 contests.
After a hot start to the 2019 season the Suns are now 14-21 through 35 games.
The Clippers, meanwhile, are 25-12 and sit comfortably at No. 4 in the Western Conference.
