Cleveland Browns Cutting Odell Beckham Over Arrest?

Are the Cleveland Browns cutting Odell Beckham over his arrest warrant?

On Thursday afternoon, news emerged that the New Orleans Police Department had obtained an arrest warrant for the wide receiver.

Beckham stood accused of slapping the butt of a security officer in the LSU locker room after the college football National Championship Game on Monday night.

In a video recording, the officer in question can seemingly be seen speaking to LSU right guard Damian Lewis when Beckham runs over and slaps him on the rear end.

Beckham was charged with simple battery for the incident. Reports indicate that the police initially wanted to charge him with sexual battery, but a judge disagreed.

The Browns quickly responded to the incident with a short statement.

“We are aware of the incident and have been in touch with Odell and his representatives on the matter,” the statement read.

“They are cooperating with the proper authorities to appropriately address the situation.”

In the aftermath, Browns fans took to social media to demand that the polarizing receiver be cut.

“Two words: cut him.” one fan tweeted out.

“Honestly trade him and sell out for the run,” another wrote.

“We can’t win if we need to pass the ball to keep him happy.”

“Tired of his nonsense get rid of him,” a third fan posted.

“He has to be released for conducting himself in such an inhuman manner,” another fan insisted.

“Do the right thing.”

It remains to be seen if Beckham will face any disciplinary action from Cleveland brass for his actions. An announcement will likely come one way or the other at some point in the next few days.
