Chase Young Makes Surprising New 2020 Draft Statement

Chase Young has made a surprising new 2020 Draft statement.

Earlier this week Young made headlines when he was approached by TMZ Sports on Friday night.

The TMZ reporter asked Young whether he would be returning to Ohio State or entering the NFL Draft. If he entered the draft, Young is expected to be a top two pick.

Young did not even hesitate.

“That’s the plan,” Young replied, in response to whether he would be a Buckeye again next year.

The news was obviously music to the ears of Ohio State fans. Young has been arguably the most important player on the team’s ferocious defense, and key to their success in 2019.

Unfortunately, the exhilaration was short-lived.

Shortly after Young’s answer went viral, he came out and clarified the statement he gave to TMZ.

“That moment was just a real spontaneous moment, caught me off-guard,” he said of the TMZ encounter.

“I’m not even really worried anything in the future, I’m just worried about just beating Clemson right now.”

Clearly that comment strikes a much different note. Now Young’s status after this year ends is very much up in the air.

Either way, we are unlikely to get a clear answer on the star junior until the year officially wraps.

Ohio State will play Clemson in two weeks in the No. 2 vs. No. 3 match-up of the College Football Playoff.

From there, the winner will take on the winner of No. 1 LSU vs. No. 4 Oklahoma for the National Championship.
