Chargers Star Melvin Gordon Predicts Philip Rivers’ Next Team

Chargers star Melvin Gordon predicted Philip Rivers’ next team recently.

In his estimation, Rivers will end up with the Indianapolis Colts.

Gordon’s speculation regarding Rivers’ future comes on the heels of the veteran quarterback and Chargers agreeing to go their separate ways this past week.

This past season Rivers threw for 23 touchdowns, 20 interceptions and 4,615 yards. The touchdowns and interceptions totals were some of his worst in a very long time.

Gordon expressed sadness regarding the departure of his longtime quarterback, but also took the time to describe where he believes Rivers will ultimately land.

Although there are many organizations reportedly looking at Rivers, the running back thinks the Colts would be the best fit out of anyone.

The Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears have all been mentioned as potential landing spots for the 38-year-old.

However, Gordon has described Indianapolis as “the best fit.”

“I think he’s going to the Colts,” he said.

“I think that’s probably the best fit.”

Currently, Jacoby Brissett is listed as Indianapolis’ quarterback.

That said, management did not seem particularly enthralled with the job he did filling in for a recently retired Andrew Luck last season.

As such, many expect the Colts to find themselves a new quarterback – one way or the other.

Will that quarterback ultimately be Rivers? Time will tell.
