Is Bruce Bochy to the Houston Astros a done deal?

The Astros parted ways with former manager A.J. Hinch and general manager Jeff Luhnow on Monday following the revelation that the team had participated in an elaborate cheating scandal.

As a result of the damning report, Houston now finds itself in a very tricky situation and in desperate need of a stabilizing force.

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, that could come in the form of Bochy.

The 64-year-old is one of the most respected names in major league baseball and has an immensely successful 13-year stint with the San Francisco Giants.

A three-time World Series champ, Bochy is said to be “intrigued” by the idea of linking up with the Astros.

That said, he has consistently maintained wanting to take 2020 off, and at the moment he shows little desire to move off that position.

It remains to be seen if that will change at some point.

If Bochy does return, it would mark his comeback to the organization with which he started out his baseball playing career. He ultimately played for the Astros from 1978 to 1980 before moving on to the New York Mets.
