Baker Mayfield made his triumphant Los Angeles Rams debut this week with an impressive comeback victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.

L.A. came into this one with a six-game losing streak to break and a starting quarterback who had only been with the team for two days.

Despite trailing by 13 points in the fourth quarter, Baker dug deep and rallied his squad back.

The cherry on top proved to be a 98-yard game-winning drive punctuated by a 23-yard touchdown score to wide receiver Van Jefferson with 10 seconds left on the clock.

One person who loved everything she saw on Thursday night? Baker’s wife, Emily.

She immediately took to social media and posted this message:

Earlier in the week, Emily went viral for her somewhat drastic reaction to the Carolina Panthers letting her beau walk. This time around, the mood of her social media was much lighter and more celebratory.

Emily has been a huge star in her own right this season. With Baker struggling in Carolina, she really stole the show with her provocative outfits and overall enthusiasm.

She also handled his uncomfortable leaked DMs situation with about as much class as anyone could have under the circumstances.

It will be interesting to see how she and Baker ultimately fare in Los Angeles.

They definitely got off to an undeniably excellent start.

Baker, by virtue of him completing 15 of 20 passes in the fourth quarter, put up arguably the best regular season performance of his career. Sure, it came against the hapless Raiders – but he did what Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers could not.

Matthew Stafford has signaled that he will give retirement serious consideration before next season. If that were to happen, and presuming Sean McVay doesn’t follow him out the door, there may be a place for Baker with the Rams long-term.

Of course, that all hinges on him being able to continue to play well going forward.

Will he do what he needs to do in that regard for the remainder of the season?

Time will tell.
