Alex Morgan’s Provocative Shirt Goes Viral (Photos)

Alex Morgan is widely regarded as one of the most successful and influential soccer stars of her generation.

As the co-captain of the U.S. women’s national soccer team from 2018 to 2020 she oversaw the American side’s 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup victory and earned a Silver Boot in the process.

There is a reason why Morgan was named one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People of 2019. She has that sort impact both on and off the field.

This week, Morgan opted to show her boldness once more with a provocative shirt ahead of one of her matches.

The shirt in question largely speaks for itself:

The “B.G.” in question there is Brittney Griner – a WNBA legend who has been detained in Russia since 2022.

Griner is a political prisoner being used by Russia to punish the United States over ill will stemming from the former’s attempt to invade Ukraine.

America’s inability to bring Griner home has become a big topic of conversation within the sports community over the past few months.

Fans responded to Morgan’s shirt choice on social media:

This isn’t the first time in recent weeks Morgan has blown up online. Between her epic boat party photos, memorable beach day pictures and wild vacation snaps – it has been one thing after another.

Plus, there is also just the soccer legend’s general Instagram content. It always does massive numbers, for pretty clear reasons.

Big picture, Morgan clearly knows the platform she possesses.

And she definitely wants to use it in a positive way.

Will she continue to speak out on Griner’s detention over the next few weeks and months?

Time will tell.
