San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy will make history this weekend regardless of how his team fares against the Seattle Seahawks.
Prior to this season no seventh round NFL draft picks had ever started in a playoff game. On Saturday, Purdy will become the first.
When the Niners selected him to be their Mr. Irrelevant with last pick in the 2022 NFL draft, nobody envisioned that Purdy would turn into the franchise’s savior. And yet, after injuries to both Trey Lance and Jimmy Jimmy Garoppolo, that is precisely what ended up happening.
Because the general public is still getting to know Purdy, many were surprised that he has both a girlfriend and sister who are extremely big fans of his. They show out at every game and rep hard for him on social media.
Purdy’s girlfriend, Jenna Brandt, has seen her follower total nearly double over the past month. She routinely sets social media ablaze with her various output:

With that sort of support system in place, it comes as little surprise that Purdy has handled his newfound fame and responsibility with about as much poise as possible.
Over the last month and a half Purdy led the entire NFL with a 112.0 passer rating.
In addition to that, the 23-year-old has completed 68.3 percent of his passes for 1,308 yards, 13 touchdowns and a mere three picks.

If he can keep that run going throughout the playoffs, there is a very real chance that will become the team’s starter going forward into next year.
And while it is unlikely that his girlfriend and sister will generate the sort of headlines that Nick Bosa’s special lady friend has and does routinely, their profiles will likely grow significantly as well.
No matter what happens this weekend against the Seahawks, Purdy is clearly on his way to being a star in the NFL for many years to come.
