2019 Heisman Winner Is Obvious, Says ESPN

The 2019 Heisman winner is obvious, says ESPN.

While the award will not officially be handed out until Dec. 14, the worldwide leader in sports says it is clear who will be walking away with the trophy.

LSU’s Joe Burrow has had a tremendous season up to this point, and unless something insane happens versus Texas A&M, ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit believes he going home with the hardware.

“I hate to say that it’s over, but Joe Burrow at this point has done everything in his power to be a dominant player and to be a guy that is very deserving of winning the Heisman,” Herbstreit said on his podcast.

“Let’s hope he doesn’t ever get injured. But unless he just lays an egg and has one of those games — he hasn’t all year — where he’s throwing interceptions. … I just don’t know if there’s anything that can open up the door for Travis Etienne.”

LSU has been arguably the best team in college football all year long thanks to Burrow’s contributions.

Unlike past quarterback frontrunners, Burrow does not benefit from having an amazing defense backing him up, so that makes his contributions this season all the more impressive.
