As the world waits to see whether or not Shannon Sharpe will go to jail over his phone call with Julio Jones, the Atlanta Falcons are continuing to move closer to trading the Pro Bowl wide receiver.
According to ESPN NFL insider Dianna Russini, a deal could happen as soon as next week.
On Thursday, she noted that Atlanta has “discussed several trade offers for Julio Jones, including an offer for a future first round draft pick.”
So who are the most viable contenders for Jones’ services at this juncture?
“As we watch Titans players fiercely recruit Julio Jones on social media, I was told Atlanta has actually had discussions with Tennessee,” Russini wrote on Twitter. “As of now, they are still talking but I was told this ‘is a long shot’ for the Titans to land Jones.”
Beyond that, the New England Patriots continue to be a serious player in all this.
During a recent session of PFT Live, NFL insider Chris Simms specifically cited New England as a team to watch.
Jones, meanwhile, has made it clear that there is one specific team he would absolutely love to end up with.

While it remains to be seen whether the 32-year-old will ultimately get a say in where he goes next, it is becoming increasingly clear that his days in Atlanta are numbered.
Where will he eventually end up?
Time will tell.
