2 College Basketball Frontrunners For Haley Cavinder Emerge

Haley Cavinder announced on Friday morning that she was entering the transfer portal with the intention of playing college basketball when next season commences.

Last season Haley played an instrumental role in Miami’s surprising run to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, before seemingly opting to retire from college athletics this summer.

There was talk of Haley and her sister, Hanna, joining the WWE. The pair’s wild photos and racy videos had turned them into huge stars. It is unclear what the status of that potential relationship currently is, though.

Given that Haley earned second-team All-ACC honors last season and averaged 12 points per game, there is no shortage of interest in her from rival schools.

Two frontrunners in particular have emerged for Haley’s services.

The first and most obvious landing spot for Haley is South Carolina. With Zia Cooke having gone and gotten drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks, the Gamecocks’ backcourt needs a talent infusion. Haley could provide that.

If joining Dawn Staley isn’t an option, Haley could also consider SMU. While she did surprisingly well at Miami, she could be for the Mustangs what she was for Fresno State. She wouldn’t play second-fiddle to anyone.

Either way, Haley has some time to figure out where she wants to go. In the interim, she continues to post her popular social media content without disruption:

Given Haley’s NIL success, she will likely make her decision on her next landing spot based purely off fit.

She is already famous, she doesn’t need a school to help elevate her brand.

And with her sister not joining her, that is one less thing that will influence the choice.

Where will Haley end up playing when all is said and done? Time will tell.
