1 NFL Team Packers’ Aaron Rodgers Wants To Be Traded To

This week Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers shocked the NFL-watching community to its core when he demanded a trade.

Although there has been a lot of chatter regarding his discontent with the Packers in recent months, and despite Rodgers being pretty vocal about his unhappiness with some of the front office’s recent decisions, nobody expected it to happen this suddenly and this forcefully.

There has been some loose talk of the San Francisco 49ers being interested in Rodgers’ services, but their decision to take Trey Lance out of North Dakota State with the No. 3 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft effectively closed the door on that possible relationship.

Fortunately, there appears to be another team that Rodgers really has his eye on.

And it just so happens that the same team is perpetually in the news over its quarterback situation.

That team? The Las Vegas Raiders.

On Sunday, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler appeared on SportsCenter and revealed that there is definitely mutual interest there.

“[Aaron Rodgers] is reportedly intrigued by the Raiders as well, so they have to be on this list,” he said.

“They’re happy with Derek Carr; nothing’s going on right now, and they very well could extend Derek Carr sometime soon. But the Raiders look into every single quarterback situation. … They looked at past free agents or trade options. So, Jon Gruden is sort of always lurking. You can’t discount them.”

Interestingly enough, Fowler then went on to say that the Raiders also took a look at Lance prior to the draft – pretty much confirming that they were currently in the process of exploring their quarterback options.

On paper, a swap between Las Vegas and Green Bay would make a lot of sense. The latter squad will be hard-pressed finding a veteran quarterback of Carr’s skill level in return for Rodgers from any other team. That coupled with draft picks is going to be a hard offer to top.

Will a deal between these two teams ultimately materialize? An answer should come over the next few weeks and months.
