1 NBA Team Rockets' John Wall Will Inevitably Join

John Wall will likely go down in NBA lore as one of the league’s greatest what-if stories. An immensely talented player at his peak, he was ultimately robbed of a lot of playing time by injuries.

Next season, Wall will exercise a $47.4 million player option for 2022-23. Beyond that, though – his future is very much in doubt.

Two seasons ago, the last time he took the court, Wall averaged 20.6 points and 6.9 assists in 40 games for the Houston Rockets. He still has the attributes necessary to be a productive player.

But for whom?

This week, Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report presented a squad for Wall that makes too much sense to ignore.

“If Wall is bought out, he would join the pool of unrestricted free agents, and league sources have mentioned the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat as possible landing spots,” he wrote. “The Clippers have more question marks at point guard, which could mean he’d get more minutes and exposure there.”

Two teams have consistently served as the likely landing spots for Wall following a buyout. Of that group, based on need, Los Angeles clearly makes the most sense.

Wall clearly has an affinity for L.A. himself – albeit, not the Clippers.

That being said, at this juncture, he will probably take whatever he can get.

Will Wall ultimately end up with the Clippers when it’s all said and done?

Time will tell.
