Zach Wilson’s Blunt Reaction To Sleeping With Mom’s Friend Rumors

Zach Wilson’s Blunt Reaction To Sleeping With Mom’s Friend Rumors

Zach Wilson addressed the media for the first time in a long time this week, and understandably there was one question everyone wanted him to answer.

Over the past few weeks there has been nonstop chatter about Wilson sleeping with one of his mom’s best friends. It was an incredibly viral story – prompting multiple NFL stars like D.K. Metcalf to bring it up publicly.

On Wednesday, Wilson was forced to tackle the matter himself.

After a reporter asked him how he was coping with all the drama surrounding him, Wilson offered a fairly blunt reply.

“It’s just about football and that’s really all I can do,” Wilson said.

“It is what it is. Excited to be here with the boys. Excited to be in Idaho with those guys, too. Excited to try and get better every day, that’s all I can focus on.”

Just off-the-charts swagger on this kid. His grin said it all, though.

You can’t blame folks for being excited about this story. This is the most impressive thing a Jets quarterback has done in about 50 years.

Plus, the Wilson family is really keeping this thing alive themselves. Zach’s mom did a whole thing where she introduced the world to her best friend. He has a smirk on his face when he discusses it. Everyone involved, except for maybe Zach’s new girlfriend, is eating this story up.

Big picture, though – offseason fun and games are just that. A means to fend off boredom during a time when actual football isn’t being played.

You can’t hide behind it forever.

The Jets have invested a lot in making Wilson their cornerstone and franchise quarterback. He needs to deliver in 2022-23. His offseason body transformation was a great start.

Now he needs to put it all together.

Will this be the year that Wilson takes his place among the NFL’s elite young passers?

Time will tell.
