World Health Organization classifies ‘gaming disorder’ as an illness

So finally it has come to it, that Video games are considered the bane of the human race. As it came up in a recent study, The World Health Organization has come up with the new theory that Gaming, both offline and online as a disorder or an illness.

They have decided to put the new awareness into effect from June 2018 adding gaming of all sorts into the list of globally recognised diseases.

In the 11th revision of the International Statistical Classification or commonly said the ICD11 they have conveniently put gaming alongside the list of addictive behaviour due to gaming taking over people’s daily and personal life in a way that is very harmful to the human race in general.

Scientists through extreme research have also found out that this gaming disorder can be both continuous and episodic and can be considered severe if it continues for over 12months. Though in some cases it can be for a shorter duration if the game being played is more hazardous.

This has put all the gaming companies across the world in a situation of great turmoil especially ones in the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Koreans, South Africa, and Brazil. They have come up with an extremely debatable opinion that is highly controversial that the idea put forward by WHO is not based on sufficient robust evidence.

The multinational companies still have around over 2years to give their case a lot more weight because this new illness will not be put into the list before the 1st of January 2022.

So gamers its time you start looking for a better and less hazardous pass time.
