Why Chiefs Banned Travis Kelce From Seeing Taylor Swift Before Super Bowl

The romance between Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and pop sensation Taylor Swift has dominated headlines ahead of this year’s Super Bowl.

As such, many were surprised when the pair wasn’t really seen together in the lead up to the big game. In fact, the biggest Swift-related story from the past 24 hours has been her unfortunate wardrobe malfunction during one of her recent concerts.

Turns out – there was a good reason for this.

According to TMZ, the Chiefs banned Kelce from seeing Swift prior to the Super Bowl kicking off.

“Players are NOT allowed to stay with wives/GFs the night before games—any games. …We’re hearing in its full effect this week,” TMZ reported.

“When it comes to Super Bowl Sunday, the players are basically on lockdown for the wee hours of the night.”

That certainly makes sense. It also explains why Patrick Mahomes hasn’t weighed in on the growing drama between his wife, Brittany, and his annoying brother Jackson.

The real reason Brittany refused to let Jackson party with her on Saturday night came out early Sunday morning.

With players being unable to see their significant others prior to the big game, the inevitable reunion that will occur postgame sounds like it will be all the sweeter.

Particularly if Kansas City pulls off the upset and finds a way to defeat the San Francisco 49ers, who enter this outing as two-point favorites.

Will the Chiefs win the Super Bowl this year and cement Kelce and Swift as the new King and Queen of the NFL? An answer one way or the other is coming Sunday.
