Who Warriors Value More Between Draymond Green, Jordan Poole

The Golden State Warriors found themselves in the headlines for all the wrong reasons last week when two of their biggest stars were involved in a physical confrontation.

In a clip that immediately went viral, Draymond Green can be seeing punching Jordan Poole with zero thought for the youngster’s long-term wellbeing.

The fallout from this has been swift.

Green is currently on a self-imposed exile from the organization; Poole is trying to move forward as best he can.

As a result of everything that has transpired, an obvious question has arisen: who do the Warriors value more between their two stars?

“The Warriors aren’t the same without Draymond,” an NBA executive told Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report this week. “They can’t defend without him.”

Plus, what has happened has tarnished Green’s standing with other squads around the league to some degree.

“I don’t think it’d be easy to trade him right now [given the incident],” an NBA agent told Pincus. “They’re going to try [to keep both].

“Poole is obviously the priority. Draymond and even Klay [Thompson] were side-eyeing Poole, but that’s not surprising since he’s passed both of them in terms of value on the team.”

Golden State is in a rough place right now. Based on the verbal exchange that occurred between Green and Poole in the lead-up to their confrontation, it’s quite clear that a very legit issue is at the core of their troubles.

Head coach Steve Kerr accidentally confirmed it prior to the fight, suggesting that veterans have a slight beef with Poole.

What that means is that the Warriors need to figure out if Green and Poole can remain on the same roster. If not, there is at least one very legitimate suiter interested in Poole’s services.

The market for Green is less clear.

How will the Warriors ultimately resolve this issue and move forward?

Time will tell.
