Where Do Spencer Rattler And Oklahoma Go From Here?

Where Do Spencer Rattler And Oklahoma Go From Here?

Oklahoma and Texas squared off for their highly anticipated showdown on Saturday.

Because both programs began the year with a combined three losses through three weeks of play, there was little on the line in this one beyond pride.

Things got off to a rough start for Sooners quarterback Spencer Rattler, who recorded two interceptions and one fumble in 20 minutes of action.

As a result of his poor play, Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley yanked him from the game and replaced him with Tanner Mordecai.

Just like that, the Spencer Rattler Era seems to have come to an abrupt end.

Riley’s decision was drastic, but understandable. His team has recorded two defeats over the course of three games, and it’s not like Rattler’s early performance inspired a whole ton of confidence.

Naturally, Twitter had some reactions to what had transpired.

Mordecai has gone 5 for 6 and picked up 52 yards through the air since coming into the game. It is currently 17-17 heading into halftime.

Based on how Rattler has played up to this point, and given the fact that Mordecai looks decent, it is difficult to see a scenario where Riley switches back to his original quarterback.

What does this mean for Rattler’s future with the Sooners? Time will tell.
