Vikings Coach Mike Zimmer Rejects Jerry Jones’ Cowboys

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer rejected Jerry Jones’ Cowboys, it would appear.

Late last week reports emerged that Dallas was taking a serious look at bringing in Zimmer.

Zimmer’s contract with Minnesota expires next year, so the fact that Jones would be willing to trade a pick for him is quite telling.

Nevertheless, it appears that only one side is interested in all this Zimmer-to-Dallas chatter.

According to recent reports, Zimmer has zero desire to leave what he feels is a good situation in Minnesota. Much like the Cowboys, he also has a ton of talent at skill positions and a solid defense.

Obviously Zimmer has ties to Dallas, having previously served as a coordinator there, but that has done little to sway him thus far.

If anything, it appears that Jones’ interest in Zimmer will have the Sean Payton effect on his time with the Vikings. Payton was able to secure a big payday from the New Orleans Saints as a result of interest from the Cowboys, and it appears Zimmer will do the same.
