Skip Bayless Rips Russell Westbrook Over Poor Performance
Skip Bayless ripped Russell Westbrook following the Houston Rockets’ Game 6 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night.
Sitting opposite Shannon Sharpe on Tuesday’s episode of Undisputed, Bayless suggested that Houston was actually a better team without the 31-year-old than with him.
“I have tried for years to believe in this man as a basketball player,” Bayless said.
“I always get right to the edge of this cliff and I can’t quite take the leap. It feels like Houston has played a little better without Russ in this series.”

One day earlier, as the Rockets were choking away a very winnable outing with poor decision-making and embarrassing turnovers, Bayless was similarly ruthless.
Hate to say it, but Russell Westbrook is making it very difficult for the Rockets to overcome Westbrook’s former team because of all his out-of-control turnovers and poor shots. He might have one more shot to redeem himself.

LORD HAVE MERCY, Westbrook did it again! Another crazy turnover! Rockets had ’em. Westbrick gave it back.

Westbrook finished the game with 17 points on eight of 15 shooting. He also chipped in four rebounds and three assists, but managed to negate most of his positive contributions with seven turnovers for the day.
One particularly costly one to close things out ultimately led to Houston’s defeat.

James Harden has a troubling tendency not to show up in important playoff games. If that happens again, Westbrook is going to need to step in and be the sort of player everyone knows he has the ability to be.

If he ultimately is unable to do that – expect Bayless’ most recent take to serve as an appetizer for a much worse rant down the line.
