Scott Frost Getting Fired After Latest Embarrassing Nebraska Loss?

The Scott Frost Era at Nebraska has been an unmitigated disaster. After coming over from UCF with all the hype in the world, the 45-year-old has consistently disappointed during his time with the Huskers.

On Saturday, the letdowns continued. Fresh off a memorable 30-23 victory over Penn State last week, some thought that Nebraska might enter their showdown against Illinois with momentum. Nope. Despite being a terrible one-win team as well, the Fighting Illini jumped out to an early lead over the Cornhuskers and never looked back.

Illinois eventually emerged from the outing with a 41-23 victory.

Needless to say, fans were not happy.

Some people also took joy in Frost’s failures due to how adamant he was about wanting to play football this year.

The year before Mike Riley got fired by Nebraska he recorded a nine-win season. Bo Pelini regularly won nine or ten outings per year. Bill Callahan recorded both eight and nine-win campaigns. Frank Solich amassed 58-19 mark.

Meanwhile, since joining the program in 2018, Frost has yet to record a six-win season. By any objective measure, he has not given any indication that he has the tools necessary to turn things around.

At this point, his firing is inevitable. It’s not a matter of if. The question now is simply when?
