Udoka Azubuike Shines In Kansas Win Over Baylor

Udoka Azubuike shined in Kansas’ win over Baylor on Saturday.

The afternoon showdown was billed as a battle of titans. The Jayhawks are obviously always formidable, and Baylor came in boasting the top ranking in the nation.

When it was all said and done, Bill Self’s group was able to avenge a defeat that occurred back in January at Allen Fieldhouse.

In that first game both Azubuike and Devon Doston struggled putting any points on the board. This time around, that was not a problem.

Azubuike ended the game with 23 points and 19 rebounds.

Although Baylor was able to cut the deficit to one towards the end of the game thanks to back to back three pointers, ultimately a Jared Butler miss failed to send the outing into overtime.

With this victory, the Jayhawks are now tied with the Bears for the best record in Big 12 play.

There are currently four games remaining on Kansas’ schedule, meaning theoretically the team could earn lone possession of first place.

Up until this most recent defeat, Baylor had not lost since November of last year.

The odds are fairly high that these two squads will match up once again when the conference tournament rolls around.
