Sacramento Kings big man Tristan Thompson found himself embroiled in something of an unfortunate scandal this week.
On Friday, court documents emerged seemingly alleging that Thompson had impregnated personal trainer Maralee Nichols.
According to US Magazine, “Nichols, who has not yet given birth, is suing the 30-year-old Sacramento Kings player for child support” for a baby due to be born in December. In the days following, the Daily Mail reported that Nichols had in fact given birth.
The report went on to note that Nichols had “attended doctor’s appointments in April and May, the first of which cost $518 and was covered by Thompson.” Unfortunately, after that Thompson reportedly refused to pay further medical bills.
Nichols went on to allege that Thompson had sent her threatening text messages in an attempt to coerce her into having an abortion.
“Btw if you think having this baby is gonna make you some money. It’s completely wrong,” Thompson allegedly said.
“You are aware that I’m retiring after this season. So in terms of support it will be whatever is required monthly for someone who’s unemployed. It’s Texas so it will be only a couple hundred dollars.
“So you better off taking this 75k I’m offering cause you won’t get nothing near that with having a kid with a father who’s unemployed. All you will have is a baby with a father who has zero involvement with the child and a few hundred dollars of child support a month.”
Yikes.
Thompson is currently in the second year of a two-year, $19 million contract. Throughout his career he has made upwards of $116 million.

How that will ultimately impact the proceedings remains to be seen.
Obviously Thompson is no stranger to making headlines for this type of stuff. Whether its his proclivities with three different women at one party or his random drama with Larsa Pippen and Jordyn Woods, it’s one thing after another with him.
How will this entire saga ultimately end? Time will tell.
