Tom Brady Officially Leaving The New England Patriots?

Is Tom Brady officially leaving the New England Patriots?

Late this week, reports emerged that the future Hall of Famer was officially leaving the Boston area after the end of the school year.

According to Gary Tanguay of NBC Sports Boston, the star quarterback and his family are “planning to leave the area.”

While moving to a different city does not necessarily mean Brady is done with the Patriots, Tanguay’s other report is a bit more disconcerting.

The NBC Sports Boston insider notes that anonymous sources informed him that Brady considers his compensation from the Patriots a point of embarrassment. At this point, he is reportedly simply waiting for “the kids to finish school this year, and then they’re gone.”

Tanguay is not the first person to offer this sort of report.

WEEI’s Greg Hill also suggested this past week that Brady’s family had cleared out their suite at Gillette Stadium in a way they had never done before after a season.

The idea of Brady playing for a different franchise seemed blasphemous at the beginning of 2019, but the rumors have only grown louder since then.

Despite winning six Super Bowls with the Patriots, Brady has seemingly grown increasingly frustrated with the franchise for an assortment of reasons.

As an unrestricted free agent, Brady will have his pick of locales. Should he want to return to New England, the door there will obviously always be open for him.

That said, there has been a lot of chatter in recent months of him moving to Los Angeles and joining the Chargers.

The Chargers and their old franchise quarterback, Philip Rivers, appear to have reached the end of the road and are ready to move on.

That coupled with Brady’s post-NFL Hollywood aspirations and the fact that he is originally from California has led many to wonder if a union between him and the Chargers is in the cards.

Either way, a final decision from Brady is not expected for a few more months.

It is possible he returns to the Patriots. Certainly that would be the easiest way to go. But generally speaking, when there is this much smoke surrounding something, a fire is just around the corner.
