Texas Will Fire Tom Herman

Texas will fire Tom Herman, sooner rather than later.

Herman, 44, came to the University of Texas with a lot of hype surrounding him.

Initially he lived up to the high expectations. Last year, the Longhorns went 10-4 and beat Georgia in impressive fashion in their bowl game.

That success coupled with the theoretical development of quarterback Sam Ehlinger led many to believe that this would be the year that Texas might actually challenge for the Big 12 title.

Unfortunately, that did not end up happening.

The Longhorns went 6-5 through 11 games and have looked underwhelming from start to finish. Over the course of the last six games they have lost four times.

Herman’s initial shine has clearly worn off, and it is now obvious that Baylor’s was the better hire.

Texas is currently up on a 4-7 Texas Tech squad, but the reality is, regardless of whether they win or not, this season has been an utter disappointment.

Next year will be big for Herman.

If he does not turn things around quickly and legitimate push Oklahoma for the conference crown, he could quickly end up going the way of Jason Garrett.
