Tate Martell’s girlfriend reveal his transfer future in a series of Twitter pots.
Martell, a former high school football star who has had trouble earning playing time in college, has not been with Miami’s football team in several weeks.
He had previously transferred to Miami from Ohio State after being unable to earn playing time with the Buckeyes. Unfortunately, a similar fate ensued at his next stop as well.
Following a failed attempt at switching to wide receiver, Martell decided to take some time away from the program.
“I’m not transferring from the University of Miami,” he wrote in an Instagram post last month.
“My leave of absence is due to personal reasons. At this time, I don’t think it’s appropriate for me to discuss these reasons.
“I need some time to focus on these issues.”
This week, Martell’s girlfriend took to Twitter to address the notion that she had somehow pushed him away from football.

Miami ultimately finished the year 6-6 behind inconsistent quarterback play all year long. The Hurricanes are now awaiting news on what their bowl game will be.
As of this moment, Martell’s future remains unclear.
