Tate Martell Has Message For Joe Burrow, LSU

Tate Martell has a message for Joe Burrow and LSU after their big title win.

Burrow’s college football playing career started with Ohio State.

When he could not earn the playing time he wanted with the Buckeyes, he ultimately transferred to LSU to play under coach Ed Orgeron.

During that stint at Ohio State, Burrow met another talented young quarterback who was having trouble breaking through and earning playing time: Martell.

Following LSU’s big win in the National Championship on Monday night, Martell sent his friend a heartfelt message Twitter.

“Playing with Joe, watching how Joe worked, knowing the person Joe is,” Martell wrote.

“HE EARNED EVERYTHING THAT CAME TO HIM THIS SEASON! CONGRATS BROTHA!”

Martell’s struggles have been well-documented at this point.

After being unable to crack the rotation at Ohio State, he transferred to Miami with the expectation of starting.

Ultimately, he could not win a starting role with the ‘Canes either.

It is currently unclear what Martell’s next move will be.

Fortunately for him, as Burrow showed this past year, there is always time to turn around your football career.

Burrow was all but forgotten before he came to LSU. Now he is a Heisman winner and will likely be selected with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
