Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Louis Riddick Taking Over Monday Night Football

Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Louis Riddick are taking over Monday Night Football broadcasts next season.

ESPN has kept its decision-making process regarding who the next MNF announcers would be pretty close to the vest up to this point, but it looks like a final choice has been made.

Levy, Griese and Riddick will take over for Booger McFarland and Joe Tessitore, who flopped badly last season. The year before that, Jason Witten was similarly unimpressive in the booth.

There was a lot of talk heading into the offseason that ESPN would try to poach Tony Romo from CBS or coax Peyton Manning into a deal, but nothing ultimately transpired on either front.

Instead, the Worldwide Leader in Sports is settling for Levy, Grise and Riddick.

There was some chatter about Kirk Herbstreit joining the Monday Night Football crew, but the lack of clarity surrounding the looming college football season made that unfeasible for Week 1.

The door is still open for Herbstreit to participate if college football’s season does not proceed as planned, though. In fact, he and Chris Fowler are on deck for Week 2 of MNF action if nothing changes between now and then.

It will be interesting to see who takes over the Monday Night Football booth in Week 3 and beyond.
