Stephen Curry’s Parents Divorcing Over Cheating Claims

Stephen Curry’s Parents Divorcing Over Cheating Claims

The ongoing divorce proceedings between Stephen Curry’s parents are about to get very ugly.

News of Sonya filing for divorce from Dell, her husband of more than 30 years, initially went public on Monday.

Since then, additional details have emerged regarding the couple’s situation – and they’re not pretty.

Essentially, both parties seem to be accusing the other of adultery.

According to TMZ, Sonya maintains that Dell “cheated on her with different women while married.” She insists that his philandering was an open secret among family and friends.

Dell responded to these claims by “accusing Sonya of ‘acts of illicit sexual misconduct’ prior to their separation, and then lying about the alleged incidents.” He further suggests that she is now living with another man, an act that should preclude her from receiving alimony.

So why is this all just coming out now? Sonya says she kept a lid on things “in one final act of trying to protect [Dell] and family from possible public exposure and scrutiny.”

Stephen and his brother, Seth, who plays for the Philadelphia 76ers, seem to be handling the situation about as well as possible. Late Monday evening, Stephen sent an emotional public message to his brother amid all the drama.

Where things go from here remains to be seen. Clearly there is a lot of bad blood between Dell and Sonya, and when that is the case, divorces typically get pretty ugly. By the sound of things, this entire matter is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
