Star Miami Quarterback Announces Transfer

A star Miami quarterback announced his transfer this week.

On Thursday, Jarren Williams revealed that he was entering the NCAA Transfer Portal.

College football insider Pat Forde was the first to report the move.

Williams was Miami’s starter in 2019, but the new arrival of Houston transferee D’Eriq King signaled the program was moving in a new direction.

King has only one year of eligibility remaining, so if he had not been promised the starting spot, he would not have made the switch.

Williams recorded 2,187 yards and 19 scores on 61 percent passing last year. For the season, he only threw seven picks.

Although the Hurricanes went just 4-6 with him at the helm, Williams showcase the sort of talent and ability that will make him highly sought-after among other schools.

Williams is six-foot-two and weighs 206 pounds. He has all the physical traits necessary to be a successful dual-threat quarterback, which is why he was ranked as the nation’s fifth best pro-style passer coming out of high school.

Before ultimately committing to Miami, Williams initially committed to Kentucky. It will be interesting to see if Mark Stoops and the Wildcats attempt to nab him this time around.
